Communitizing: The Foundation Stone Principles by Harry Menton
Summary: It's said that relationships thrive when trust is readily experienced, yet the thought of trusting people whom we don't know well brings no small amount of anxiety. If knowing our fellows is indeed the prerequisite to loving them, how do we come to actually know our fellows if we don't really know how to trust them? And most importantly, what exactly is meant by the word 'trust' in the first place? We will answer these questions and then practice what we have learned using specific skill sets, ultimately applying them as a facilitated group to challenging, realistic scenarios.
Purpose: If a primary goal of the terrestrial family unit is to mirror and model aspects of divine parentage to succeeding generations, then it is manifestly apparent that a healthy pattern for interacting with each other as adults is a crucial component to successfully parenting a child.
The desire to evolve a community which reflects values which we espouse as individuals is a powerful force felt by many at this time. Unfortunately, methods for approaching this lofty goal have all too often fallen far short of the goal.
The purpose of this workshop is to present the participants with a both an expanded notion of what community may and may not be as well as to introduce key concepts that are the fundamental building blocks of community itself. This approach is modular and applicable to all intentional communities, and its techniques accessible to even very young children.
Results: This event creates a new pattern for interpersonal relationship within a community and thus potentiates all service work done by that community. However, the focus of this workshop is in learning how to to create a kind of community, which by its very definition serves its constituents first, as they are the leaven through which any further service work outside of the community will have any power to transform.

Intimate Adjuster Liaisons: Soul Mind (Parts 1 & 2) - by Patrick Yesh
Summary: To study and own the information in the UB about mind, personality, soul and our identity as souls, one must rearrange the information and put it into logical steps of advanced spiritual thinking. The revelators write in a way that forces us to think to find deeper meanings. By creating affirmations from the writings, new meanings are revealed to us along with the intellectual steps we must take towards soul identity. Jesus asked the apostles and ultimately all of us readers/students of the UB to do this self-disciplined intellectual task.
Purpose: The workshop is a study of the indirect teaching methods of the writers of the UB and how to turn these statements into powerful affirmations and conversations with our adjusters. In so doing we can create a more intimate relationship with our adjusters that opens our spiritual eyes to who we really are as a soul. If I know myself as soul, I see others that way too. I begin to “see” both my human and my spiritual family in a different light. The workshop ends in a trinity consciousness that is permanent, including the use of our 5 minds that surround and infuse us every moment. It is a soul identification and personality/will exercise in which we coordinate our identity, will and minds with our adjusters’; a pre-morontia mind exercise.
Results: The workshop is designed to lift people to a higher state of Divine Consciousness, Trinity Consciousness and Soul Identity. Not only of themselves but ultimately of everyone else in their lives, promoting an intense feeling of the brotherhood and family of readers at a divine level.

Extended Family Foster Care -

Summary: This is a presentation of Urantia Book facts and figures about the importance of stressing the 'family arts' in education if we want to strengthen the family in our society. We know that the societies which have lasted the longest and perpetuated their cultures and traditions are those which have the strongest family systems.
There will then be a brief discussion of the failure of the family system in our current society to provide basic child rearing and family arts training, as well as the abysmal statistics on foster children and lifetimes of crime, chronic homeless cycles, the percentage of inmates in federal, state and provincial prisons, in the US and Canada, who have been through the foster care system. This is an area where I believe the UB community can take the lead. There is funding available to take children from every state and province in each nation. We have a surprising number of UBies who are childless.
Additionally large numbers of our readers have remained single, often through no fault of their own, because once we read the book we become culturally changed, transformed, and are now different from the rest of the society in some unique ways. It becomes increasingly difficult as we age to find a mate who supports our ongoing spiritual values, study and growth. Since we know that parenting is a REQUIRED COURSE before we can graduate from the local universe schools, and since we know that no where are we likely to find greater need than right here on Urantia; It behooves us to pick up that ball and run with it, by designing a pilot program for educating 'cast off' or 'throw away kids' offering a lifetime of love, support, and mentorship, alternatives to incarceration, homeless and hopelessness.
Purpose:
Because we are The United Urantia FAMILY Festival, the development of one version of a newer and stronger FAMILY ARTS program is outlined and illustrated. Additionally this vision not only provides for a healthy, loving and adventurously positive lifestyle for the children, it also offers vital premarital, couples, and youth training and internships, as well as ongoing staffing opportunities for youth, and couples, singles and elders, in our United Urantia Family to find meaningful and crucial life learning skills, hands on service and development, in the area of family arts and relationship skills development.
Results: We aim to come away with a set of goals, short term and long term to present this idea to our local and regional organizations, and to create a quarterly report from elected leaders (within a year following the festival) who are interested in operating as a board, to take the next steps towards funding, grant writing, and connecting with cutting edge programs across North America who are making strides in upgrading the current social foster system networks. We currently have four committed persons on the team, and we aim to have 10 by the end of the year. Resources of contacts and other supportive agencies will be researched and reported on by the end of the year 2010. Monthly conference calls will keep interested volunteers in communication with each other.

Discover the New Meaning of Spiritual Development and

Summary: Albert Einstein once said, "We can't solve problems by using the same kind of thinking we used when we created them." To increase the quality of our relationships and for this shift to be long-lasting, requires first that we discover new meaning in our understanding of spiritual development, and second, that we modify our approach. Only then will we have enough religion to release discord and truly love one another. This workshop will provide an experiential roadmap for living that is a prototype for progressively developing the character and the cosmic perspective essential to living the golden rule from its highest level of interpretation.
Purpose: Only when we discover new meaning in our understanding of spiritual development and take action accordingly, are we able to increase the quality of the fruits of the spirit that we yield. This workshop will provide participants with the tools to deepen their capacity to love so that an attitude of loving service becomes the instinctive response of a spiritually reverent mindset.
Results: While service can be practiced, to be increasingly meaningful not only to the person serving but to those being served, requires that it be instinctive. This requires growth in our intellectual, moral, and spiritual capacities. If participants practice what they learn in this workshop, they will increase their quality of serving others.

Our Universal Parents: God the Father

Summary: The fifth epochal revelation gives mankind the fifth and most extensive elucidation of the nature of God the Father, but it is also the first major revelation of the nature of God the Mother. Finally, we can begin to recognize, realize, and appreciate our true characters—children of a spiritual Father and a cosmic Mother.
Purpose:
Through our common relationship with God the Father, we can experience spiritual unity; and through our common relationship with God the Mother, we can achieve intellectual harmony. We need both our Father and our Mother to become a united Urantia family.
Results: Because of our initial discord of ideas, it is almost impossible to translate an experience of the unity of ideals into a lasting expression of human brotherhood. God the Father gives us the potential for the collective recognition of spiritual ideals; but only from the potential for greater wisdom and insight, given to us by God the Mother, are we able to realize a harmonious system of ideas which can link us together as brothers and sisters in the flesh. We can love one another is spirit, but our fruits of loving service are ministered in the flesh.

Heart of the Garden Retreat & Spiritual Inquiry (Parts 1 & 2) -

Far from daunting us, this should encourage us to better live and demonstrate the loving teachings of Jesus to a watchful and spiritually hungry world. It should inspire us to overcome ignorance with education and awareness and to transmute anger and fear into love. Out of this commitment to serve the global community of Urantia Book readers - and beyond - UrantiaUniversity. Its dual purpose is to foster higher learning and realization of the teachings of The Urantia Book and to put this awareness into loving action. This workshop will reveal the vision and purpose of this nascent educational and transformational undertaking. The panel members will explore with workshop participants the possibilities for personal and societal growth and progress that can result from the combined power of Study + Service + Leadership + Unified Community.
Purpose:
Through sharing personal aspirations and visions of the potentials of UrantiaUniversity for educating and enlightening people through progressive levels of study and service, we hope to provoke greater awareness about the university. Our goal is to dialogue with workshop participants about the possibilities for creating and building a dynamic community of students, teachers, servers and leaders inspired by The Urantia Book and to engage enthusiastic participation in this great project.
Results: When wisdom and compassion are skillfully applied in an enlightened manner to the problems and challenges of human existence by God-knowing and God-loving persons, all manner of progress is possible: Individual, family, societal, and planetary.

Stillness: The Art of Divine Communication -

Summary: A short discussion of Stillness, a daily time for communion with God that enjoins Eastern-style Meditation with Western world worship and spiritual up-reach, helping one develop the true, personal religion that the Urantia Book extols. Followed by a guided meditation exercise in which participants center themselves in spirit, and learn the simple techniques of relaxation and release that facilitates the process.
Purpose: Those who can learn to relax their minds and bodies and facilitate spiritual consciousness will be blessed with enhanced clarity, vision and energy with which to lead their lives, as well the motivation and preparedness for many kinds of spiritual service in their circles.
Results: Persons enlightened into the Stillness, who practice daily communion with their Universal Father, will be well-guided and energized and lead fruitful lives of service in their fields and while passing by. The Stillness provides the threshold for meaningful spiritual information and guidance to come from the spirit world via the Indwelling Spirit/Thought Adjuster. Participants will learn that celestial contact is not achieved by trying but by release ... of fears, of agendas, of busy minds.

How can we and how are we helping them now. We look at what we need to advance to higher circle levels of attainment so that we may draw nearer to our personal Seraphim. What is the relationship between our Angels, the Holy Mother Spirit and our Adjusters?
Results: Through letters and collage-artwork to our Angels we will explore the following:
- Who these Angels among us are. What do they do for us?
- Your Angels choose you and your Adjuster specifically to go to Paradise with.
- Our Angels commune with and see our Adjuster's flame.
- Which Angelic government department you work for.
- Which circle of attainment and Angelic care do you think you are in?
- Our Angels are our Morontia teachers as well as our guardians & companions now.
- Beyond Paradise into the outer space levels, we as agondonters can retain our Angelic companionship.
- Why not max out on the potential of our angelic leading now? How do we follow our Angel's path?

Summary: Our workshop consists of an introduction to the Urantian family using this quote :
33.3.7 the son and the spirit now preside over the universe much as a father and mother watch over, and minister to, their family of sons and daughters. It is not altogether out of place to refer to the Universe spirit as the creative companion of the Creator Son and to regard the creatures of the realms as their sons and daughters — a grand and glorious family but one of untold responsibilities and endless watchcare.
Purpose: Conscious understanding of the Mother Spirit’s presence in our lives at every moment of every day gives us the perspective of how we are loved and how we are all children of our Divine parents. The daily practice of the exercise we will propose during the workshop gives this consciousness of the workings of the adjutant mind spirits in our daily lives.
141.5.2 “In this way you may experience a perfected unity of spirit purpose and spirit understanding growing out of the mutual consciousness of the identity of each of your indwelling Paradise spirits; and you may enjoy all of this profound spiritual unity in the very face of the utmost diversity of your individual attitudes of intellectual thinking, temperamental feeling, and social conduct. Your personalities may be refreshingly diverse and markedly different, while your spiritual natures and spirit fruits of divine worship and brotherly love may be so unified that all who behold your lives will of a surety take cognizance of this spirit identity and soul unity; they will recognize that you have been with me and have thereby learned, and acceptably, how to do the will of the Father in heaven. You can achieve the unity of the service of God even while you render such service in accordance with the technique of your own original endowments of mind, body, and soul.
Results: The format for the discussion is using the Cosmic Café model which promotes community and provides opportunity for volunteer service to the community in itself.

Results: This presentation will help everyone take true ownership of our full nature that has been laying dormant in every individual being on earth and which has been gradually emerging since the bestowal of Jesus on Urantia as the initiator of our HD mode.

Purpose: For unity to take root, a clear vision of the Urantia Book mission is essential by all readers. This presentation will focus strongly on a very important aspect of this mission.
Results: The exploration of the influence of study groups in the individual, the family and society and the training of leaders and teachers makes a strong call on service to others.

Cosmic Roadshow - An Exploration of Innovative

Summary: In this workshop/discussion we will look at what has been tried and what is currently being explored as fertile ground for spreading the revelation with an eye to developing future religious leaders who will depend solely on Jesus and his incomparable teachings.
Purpose: The Urantia Book tells us that "...the spiritual renaissance must await the coming of these new teachers of Jesus’ religion who will be exclusively devoted to the spiritual regeneration of men"
If our planet is to truly operate as one huge and loving family, then we must undertake the training of new leaders who will devote their lives to this planetary renaissance. Programs like the Cosmic Road Show are designed to help us spread our wings as we explore and discover new methods to reach out to our extended family of humankind.
Results: The Cosmic Road Show is designed to provide mentoring and training for younger readers, connect communities of readers together, provide outreach, service and adventure opportunities while participants learn to demonstrate the Masters life as they go about doing good.

Emotional Escape -

Summary: We all have times when we get upset or feel bad. Sometimes the reaction interferes with our lives. No matter how difficult the original event may have been that causes recurrent reactions like this, we are not stuck with them. We can discover a hidden self message that triggers the feelings. When we do the hard work to prepare ourselves, we can receive and accept an inner spiritual reinterpretation of the original event. We can experience the peace that passes all understanding. We escape -- freed from ever having that particular reaction again.
Purpose: We can discover a natural way to delve into and understand how unwanted recurrent reactions occur. It works best when we support and encourage each other in this process. Each of us is the world's greatest expert on our own life and health. We can discover a hidden wisdom and make better judgements, but sometimes it takes hard and sometimes unpleasant work to do so. But the goal is to gain the depth of understanding we need in order to receive and accept the healing power of a spiritual reinterpretation that breaks the cycle of recurrence.
Results: This simple natural process is easy to learn, but may be hard to do. It takes courage and determination to complete the process, but the support and encouragement of each other can be the key to success. We are all united in one family as children of a God of love who embraces each one of us in the way we need most. So we can grow and discover and make the best possible use of our unique, infinite, eternal potential to do good, learn more truth, and appreciate greater beauty.

Elle donne indirectement des messages sur la façon de réussir sa vie en s'inspirant de celle de Jésus, en particulier dans une perspective spirituelle, mais aussi dans la société de tous les jours. Sera également présenté "L'Appel de Dieu", un autre livre de révélations de conseils de vie donnés par Jésus dans les années 1930. Ce livre est un extraordinaire complément pratique au livre d'Urantia.
Objectif: L'objectif est de nous aider à mettre en harmonie notre vie personnelle dans le monde matériel avec les exigences de vie spirituelle telle qu'elle nous sont expliquées par Jésus.
Et si nous sommes de plus en plus nombreux à la pratiquer, cette harmonie apportera aussi progressivement la paix sur notre planète et nous approchera un peu plus de l'Âge de Lumière et de Vie.

Celebrate Our Mother: A Body/Mind/Spirit Approach to Daily Life on Such A Planet -

Summary: Enjoy learning effortless body movements that not only reduce stress, but leave you feeling light-hearted....from the inside out. Using this simple approach first taught by Dr. Milton Trager to access what he termed "hook-up," we can learn to walk in awareness of spirit connection that helps us move more easily, and lightly through the day.
Purpose: Learning to walk in awareness of Our Mother helps us to embody life giving qualities. "The divine Spirit is the source of continual ministry and encouragement to the children of men." "Every step you take must be one of willingness, intelligent and cheerful cooperation." This experience deepens our relationship with self and others as we recognize the common inheritance of Our Mother's circuitry. We notice more, and can therefore respond to one another.
Results: I was going to name this workshop AS WE PASS BY: An Embodied Approach to Daily Life on Such a Planet. However, I do want to give credit to Our Mother in whom "we live, move, and have our being."
As we become softer, easier, lighter in relationship with Self, then we spill over into community life and connect with others in greater awareness. We have the model of Jesus who was willing to pause wherever he was, and attend to someone.

Summary: The presentation will describe the natures and significances of truth, beauty, and goodness: first, by considering each of these spiritual qualities individually; next, by contrasting them; then, by demonstrating their interrelatedness and their increasing degrees of unification in love, in idealism and on ever-heightening supreme, ultimate, absolute, and infinite levels of reality. Truth, beauty, goodness, and love find their final unity in Deity—in God.
Purpose: The workshop will demonstrate how man’s individual and collective pursuit of truth, beauty, and goodness will and does lead inevitably to greater levels of mutual understanding, intellectual or philosophic harmony, and spirit unity. Hence, this study of truth, beauty, and goodness will make practical as well as idealistic contributions to our thinking regarding the promotion of greater unity among all revelation students—the incipient Paradise pilgrims.
Results: The Urantia Book revelation has thoroughly interwoven throughout its pages the themes of truth, beauty, goodness (and love). A successful investigation of the natures of these divine qualities, together with incisive demonstrations of their distinctions, interrelationships, and ultimate unity will provide all students of the revelation who attend the workshop with ideas and ideals with which to nourish their thinking respecting their engagement in sharing the salient values of the revelation and in perceiving essential significances and deeper dimensions to the Master’s gospel of the kingdom, which we are all commissioned to proclaim as believers in the fifth epochal revelation and as ambassadors of the united Urantia family of our common Father.

Purpose: Unite with one sincere truth seeker at a time. Enjoy mutual support and encouragement as you each take the most promising next step for your #1 concern. Life seems designed for each of us to develop and use our potential to do the greatest possible good for ourselves and others. Only you can decide to do this or it will never happen. You and all creation will miss out on what only you can do. There is no competition and no limit, because there never was and never will be another you. Celebrate life with others in the most meaningful and joyous way by finding and becoming your true self. It often seems too good to be true, but in time, you'll know it really is. And then you can help others make their own self discovery.
Results: It usually works well. But when it does not, we quickly recognize we got on the wrong path, and almost always know then what we should have done instead. And when we do it, it usually works so well, we can hardly believe the results and can hardly wait to see what is around the next bend in our path. The benefits for self and others can not be greater than this. We each fill our own gap in creation making the whole better and brighter than it would have been otherwise. We become an essential part of eternal life and love of truth, beauty and goodness.

Revelation of Jesus Himself through Brother Elia (French and English) -

Summary: In 1989, Jesus revealed Himself to us in a beautiful photograph that was taken by Brother Elia who was asked to go in a nearby church and photograph the white wall at the request of Jesus Himself.
Purpose: The purpose of this presentation is to inform The Urantia Family about the revelation of Jesus Himself to Humanity through a photograph taken by Brother Elia which serves as 'a point of contact' with all of His followers.
Results: The result of this presentation will be to help each and everyone of us who so desire establish a visual 'point of contact', soul to Soul, with our beloved Father-Creator Jesus Christ Michael, just the same as we do with a beloved family member who has passed away and with whom we keep a precious 'point of contact' by having a photograph of them that we hold dear to our heart.

Summary: This presentation will provide a description of how and why the Spiritual Retreat Network was started 11 years ago by students of the Urantia Book.
Purpose: This will provide a model that other students of the Urantia Community can follow if they wish to do so.
Results: Participants will be able to see how we live out our Mission Statement "of supporting one another in facilitating and enhancing the individual's relationship with the indwelling spirt through the retreat experience, that all may be better equipped to serve the family of mankind."Return to top of page |
