- What documents will a person traveling from abroad need in order to enter the United States?
- Answer - A current valid passport.
- What is the current exchange rate for currency?
- Answer - Since current exchange rates change frequently, it would be best to consult the website CoinMill.com ~ The Currency Converter as the date for the Festival approaches.
- Will there be a shuttle service between Fresno Airport and Camp Wawona?
- Answer - Yes, there will be a shuttle bus at about every 2 hours that will take you from Fresno Airport and bring you to Camp Wawona grounds. The cost will be $35 US per person, which includes the return trip.
- What is the exact address for The United Urantia Family Festival venue?
- Answer - Camp Wawona - 8110 Forest Drive, Wawona, CA 95389, United States (209) 375-6330.
- Is a map of Camp Wawona in Yosemite Park available?
- Answer - Yes, on the website www.campwawona.org.
- What is the parking situation like at Camp Wawona?
- Answer - There will be sufficient parking located at the entrance of the camp site. You can click here to visit their web site to get an idea of the grounds.
- What other Festival expenses may I anticipate?
- Answer - Shuttle service back & forth, purchase of a sleeping bag and pillow for $25 US, (which you will be able to bring back with you or donate to the camp if you wish) in standard rooms if you don't bring your own. Optional: silent auction, souvenirs, etc.
- Do you have any scholarships available?
- Answer - Not at this time, but we welcome all donations to help provide scholarships for readers who cannot afford the cost by themselves.
- Do you cater to special dietary needs?
- Answer - Special requests will be considered and answered individually. Please indicate special needs, e.g., gluten free diet. Vegetarian will be available. Camp Wawona puts a lot of importance on the quality of their meals.
- Will there be provisions for disabled people?
- Answer - Yes there will be. Please if you have a special need.
- What are the policies about alcohol and drugs at Camp Wawona?
- Answer - No alcohol or drugs are permitted at any time on the grounds of Camp Wawona. Therefore, we will ask everyone to please abide by their rules.
- Are there any special Festival events for children?
- Answer - A children's program will be available with qualified people staffing these events.
- We are planning to spend some additional vacation time in Yosemite Park. What else might we do?
- Answer - There are many interesting things to do and places to visit in Yosemite Park, and tourism is at its peak at the time of our Festival. This website www.myyosemitepark.com may give you ideas.
- Is there any place to camp nearby the Festival site?
- Answer - Yes. If for some reason you would need to or would prefer to camp outside The United Urantia Family Festival site at Camp Wawona, here are links to two camping facilities within close driving distance to Camp Wawona - Summerdale Campground and Wawona Campground.
- Will I need to bring sheets, towels or any sort of linens to use in my sleeping quarters?
- Yes, we invite you to bring your own linens and towels for those who will sleep in the standard quarters. However, for a small fee of $25 US, you may choose to purchase a sleeping bag with pillow for your stay.
- My children are happy sleeping on the floor in my room. Could we bring a sleeping bag or pallet and avoid paying for a separate room?
- Answer - Yes, it will be possible to have a young child use a sleeping bag along with the family who sleeps in a family unit. Please for more information.
- Can I bring my pet?
- Answer - No. Animals are not allowed on the campground.
- Is it possible to prepare and/or store food in my sleeping quarters?
- Answer - Yes, if it is in the apartment that comes with stove and fridge, or if it is in an A-frame cottage, which has limited cooking amenities.
- What is the security of my financial transactions made online for my registration?
- Answer - RegOnline has all the security programs necessary to ensure safe online financial transactions. They were our partner for The United Urantia Family Festival in 2010 and we did not encounter a single problem while doing business with them.
- Will there be availability of commemorative T-shirts for purchase, and other memorabilia like tote bags?
- Answer - Absolutely! We would not have such a great event without offering you the means to go home with some souvenir of our memorable time spent together.
- Will there be any amount of free time included in the Program/Schedule?
- Yes, there will be ample time since all afternoons will be aimed for family activities with small groups or personal time if people prefer to do so.
